As one of the people Wordloaf will be at the beach with (as well as most non-beach days) I appreciate you joining me in encouraging him to take some REAL time off, John-Paul. Couldn't agree more that it's not only important self-care but also good for getting the creative juices flowing. :)

Totally, totally worth it! I LOVE reading your posts! I learn so much and I love following all the links to informative stuff. And, of course, your recipes are wonderful. But also fascinating and so educational have been your references to lessons learned in the process of creating these recipes -- and then tweaking them and explaining why. :) You invite us to learn along with you. BRAVO on the 1000 mark!! And enjoy the beach!

Agree with all commenters. Enjoy all the recipes and articles. Everything that goes to print is thoughtful and well researched. Will be so happy for all of us when a !@#$ is ready for print. I have Kenji Lopez-Alt's books and waiting for book debuts from Maurizio Leo and The Woks of Life family, all who have been inspiring and informative. Having been home and work bound and challenged with lots of responsibilities and undue stress, cooking and baking have been the perfect escape from all realities. Even when it is not perfect, the challenge is part of the creative and scientific process. All successes are the products of failure and a deep dive into what went wrong, but a forgiving process because we can always start over again. Bread baking is always an adventure. Hope to see more Loafers join Wordloaf Nation . Those of you can travel, be safe and enjoy your adventures. Enjoy your well deserved break Andrew, we will hear from you when you return.

Oh that’s so interesting about the payback model for the substack fellowship - isn’t that very similar to how some cookbook publishers do it? You negotiate for a lump sum advance but then you don’t start pocketing your author royalties until the advance is paid off... Excited for the evolution of the newsletter! I think it’s pretty darn swell already, so if this is only a fraction of the vision you have for it, I can’t wait to see what’s coming! Congrats on the double milestone!
